RHB-SPORT PU ADHESIVE RUBBER

DEFINITION
RHB SPORT PU ADHESIVE RUBBER-2K is a two-component, polyurethane based product used for bonding tiles and roll rubbers. Cures at room temperature.

PLACE OF USE
✓ It is used for bonding sandwich panels made of ferrous and non-ferrous metals to wood; for bonding tiles on wet floors such as bathrooms and kitchens in buildings and for bonding panels made of cork or SBR for sound insulation.

APPLICATION

Surface Preparation
The surface must be dry and clean. The surface must be free of oil, wax, grease, water repellents, dust, unattached free parts. Humidity should be maximum %8.

New Concrete
The concrete should be at least 28 days old and there should be no curing material on the surface.

Old Concrete
The surface should be free of easily removable parts, sandblasting and dusting

Metal
Surface must be clean

Priming
Concrete, asphalt, metal surfaces are primed with our one or two component PU based primer. Primer application can be done by brush or roller. Primer consumption is 150-400 gr/m² depending on surface smoothness, strength and absorbency. After primer application, wait minimum 3 hours and maximum 12 hours and then apply adhesive to the surface.

Mixing
A mechanical mixer with 100-200 rpm is used for mixing. Maximum care is taken to prevent air from entering the adhesive during mixing. All of Component B (Hardener) is poured into Component A. Mixing time should be minimum 5 minutes. It may be necessary to scrape the side walls and bottom of the container with a spatula to ensure homogeneous mixing. It is very important to mix the 2 components homogeneously for adhesive performance. A sign of good mixing is a homogeneous color.

Duration of Use of the Mixture
When Components A and B of RHB SPORT PU ADHESIVE RUBEBR-2K are mixed, the reaction heats up as it is exothermic (system that gives heat to the outside). Especially on hot days, when the full package of RHB SPORT PU ADHESIVE RUBEBR-2K is mixed, it is recommended to pour the entire mixture on the floor and spread it. The mixture should be used within 30-40 minutes depending on the air temperature. At low temperatures, the lifetime of the mixture will be extended, while at high temperatures, the lifetime of the mixture will be shortened.

APPLICATION TOOLS and APPLICATION
RHB SPORT PU ADHESIVE RUBBER-2K is applied with a notched trowel. Trowel selection and consumption depends on the structure of the surfaces to be adhered. Consumption may vary between 500-1000 gr/m². Applying a moving or constant pressure on the adhered surfaces is important for the performance of the adhesive. If pressure is applied, all of the surfaces to be adhered become in contact with the adhesive and it is transferred homogeneously to the surfaces.

CLEANING
Excess adhesive and tool cleaning can be done with thinner when the adhesive is wet. Hardened adhesive can only be cleaned mechanically.

SHELF LIFE
1 year for Components A and B in their original unopened packaging and at storage temperatures of 10-25 ºC. Protect Components A and B from direct sunlight and moisture.
